Life beyond Instagram, is there even?

I was just going through my old pictures. I have approximately 8.5k photos of myself, Don't judge, these pictures range from 2007 till the present day. When i came across 2014-15-16 pics and i went forward looking at my pictures till the present day, i noticed a drastic change in myself. Obviously, anyone would change given the amount of time, right? Puberty, age, better cameras what not? But there was more to the picture than it met the eye. The older pictures reflected more innocence, candidness, and Genuity. The smiles were warmer and the posture seemed real. Heres a challenge, find your pictures from 2010 to 2014 or 15 and compare them with your pictures from 2017 and 2018 or even 19. Camera quality did change for better but so did the person you were. When the pictures from back those days will reflect warmness and fun, in the most recent pictures, you will be visibly posing for the perfect posture and angle, and the Genuity and the fun element will seem lost.

There is nothing bad in striving for perfection or a perfect photo, everyone wants to look good in the pictures but the fun we used to have, the lives we used to live is lost somewhere behind these 6inches screens. Group photos are not a thing anymore because everyone wants a perfect selfie of themselves for Instagram of course. Not even enjoying the moment, living the moment is a thing anymore. Everything is about the perfect selfie, to look perfect in front of the world, no matter how awful is the life we live. I do take selfies too, and i am being somewhat hypocrite here, but well yes, there are times when I am out with my loved ones and forget to take pictures, let alone post it. The trips i took without taking pictures and selfies are the trips i remember dearly.

Of course, we take pictures so that we can remember those moments later in life, blah blah blah. How about capturing a picture or two and then keeping your phones aside and just enjoying without updating? I don't understand what are we even trying to do by updating every single shit in our lives? Well, i did realise this when i recently took a trip to Goa and couldn't help but keep updating everything. Now that i realised what i was doing, i couldn't help but think, why? For whom? For what?

This post is just because i want you guys to enjoy the moment, to live in the moment, for once, instead of a selfie, how about you hug your loved one in front of the sunset, kissed her/him under the night sky, hold hands and take a walk on the beach, sleep on the roof/terrace and watch the stars twinkle, there are soo many things to do than click selfies, do capture a moment or two after that keep the phone aside and just live in the moment for once.

Have you ever had a trip or a vacation or an outing whatever you've done without clicking pictures? Have you ever enjoyed so much that you completely forgot about clicking pictures? Do you remember any such trips? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but do write in the comments if you have, a simple yes or no would do..thank you for reading.. Take care 💜
