Becoming me...

My Evernote app has 600+ notes. My brain has 600+x100 notes; that's a lot. Anyway, Us, human species, we are complex beings after all, and obviously with 100 billion neurons in our brain, or as the new study suggests, approximately 86 billion neurons in our brain, we expect nothing less than to be complex. Soooo.... Let me not bother you with my... uh.. Whatever this is.. And let's just get to the point... After a long time, I wrote something. I actually took part in a competition this February for which I had to write 21 poems in 21 days... Well, I did write 21 poems, and did get an award.. umm.. But those poems have been sitting idle in my note-taking app since then... I did think of publishing them, but I just don't think I'm ready to take that step yet. Frankly, I don't believe I'm good enough to publish yet.. Oh, don't patronise me though... I love my blog and I love sharing things with my readers here, so yes.. Getting to the point, I will be sharing a few of those poems here for you guys to read.. Poem #1

Becoming me...

When the whole world went to bed
I wrapped your soul tightly around
Trying to find what's ingrained in my being
Trying to find who I was supposed to be
The fears that embodied my form
And the rage like the summer storm
Finally could no longer touch my home

The air no longer burned my lungs
Your name no longer bittered my tongue
The darkness woven in my skin
Slipped down my eyes, then my chin
We have known the darkness too well
To know it can only emphasis now to light

It was when I wrapped your soul around me
And let myself go deeper within your being
I realised, there may be a past,
 but there could never be a hope
I have to suppress the voices of doubt
I cannot only dream when you are around
